Jo d'Unienville - Principal - DDE ISTD, Young Voices Workshop UK trained

Jo trained at Masters Performing Arts College gaining a 3yr performing arts and musical theatre diploma and then branched into a professional performing career across the UK and Europe appearing in numerous plays, pantomimes, TV work, hair modelling and theatre in ensemble and lead roles. Jo spent a large part of her career working as a live vocalist at venues across the UK. Jo began her teaching career at the age of 16 and following freelancing for over 10yrs decided to pursue her life long dream of having her own school. Jo established Dance Steps Academy in 2010 and is very proud to be the Principal of what is a rapidly growing school of talent and expertise. Jo specialises in teaching Tap, Commercial, Musical Theatre and one to one vocal tuition. Jo is looking forward to launching the exciting DSA Tap Collective project in Autumn of this year.

Zoe Lane - Saturday & Wednesday Teacher of Modern, Tap, Acro, Tots Classes & Theatre School - DDE ISTD, Acrobatic Arts Certified

Zoë started her training at a young age of 3 at the Tina Phelps Stage School where she took exams in all dance disciplines, competed in competitions, performed in annual shows and local pantomimes and was also selected to dance at ISTD headquarters. At 16yrs her dream came true when she gained a place at the Tiffany Theatre College to further her training.​ Zoë graduated from college in 2009 and has been very lucky to have been offered jobs abroad dancing in shows as well as working as a choreographer. Between dance contracts she danced and modelled in the UK for adverts including dancing for Britain’s Got Talent advert alongside Ant and Dec and for a company called DKN RUN as a fitness model and many more. Zoë arrived back from dancing in October 2014 and decided she wanted to stay in the UK and share her knowledge and experience in dance by teaching. Zoë is now teaching in Primary and Secondary schools, as well as teaching adults and children in dancing schools. She still attends classes herself and takes part in shows from time to time. Zoë is extremely thrilled to have been lucky enough to join the Dance Steps Academy Team and looks forward to many years working with everyone here.

Carla Gentry - Monday & Thursday Ballet Teacher - DDE ISTD

Miss Carla trained at the Italia Conti of Theatre Arts for 3 years, graduating in 2010. From there, she went on tour with several dance and pantomime companies working internationallyand in the UK. 

In 2012, Miss Carla started teaching in local dance schools and began her training to become a fully qualified ISTD teacher at the Anthony Cliffords Studios in Romford. 

Miss Carla specialises in ISTD ballet but also has a true passion for teaching modern theatre, jazz, tap and musical theatre with 100% pass rate in all ISTD examinations

Tia Worboys - Saturday Tots Classes teacher - in DDE ISTD training

Tia is a former student of Dance Steps Academy, where she studied ballet, tap, commercial, jazz and musical theatre for numerous years before beginning her professional training at Performers College in September 2017 on the Pre Vocational Course. Since her completion of the course, she has begun training upon the BA (hons) Musical Theatre (Dance) course at Performers. Tia has performed in a variety of productions locally, including Oliver! And The Music Man, as well as many DSA shows. She has also worked as an assistant teacher at DSA since 2015, and is thrilled to begin teaching her own classes at the school. 

Mitchell Hunt - Acting Teacher - LAMDA - BA Hons Acting

Mitchell Hunt began his training with Italia Conti Associates School. He spent 5 years there before studying performing arts with the Miskin Theatre at North West Kent College. His final three years of training were spent at Arts Educational, London, from which Mitchell graduated with a BA Hons in Acting and immediately began work in EastEnders for BBC. Professional credits include work for stage, film and television, notably as Kyle Bigsby in Hollyoaks and Joe Tooby for ITV's Mr Selfridge. 
Most recently Mitchell has returned to work for BBC's EastEnders in a new role. 
Mitchell has taught in some of the UK's leading drama schools and maintains a 100% student pass rate for LAMDA
