Jo d'Unienville - Principal - DDE ISTD
Jo trained at Masters Performing Arts College gaining a 3yr performing arts and musical theatre diploma and then branched into a professional performing career across the UK and Europe appearing in numerous plays, pantomimes appearing as Principal Girl and working as Dance Captain for companies such as Bruce James Productions, Pantoni & Polka Dot Productions, TV work, hair modelling for L'Oreal & Wella, and theatre. Jo spent a large part of her career working as a live vocalist at venues across the UK. Jo began her teaching career at the age of 16 and following freelancing for over 10yrs decided to pursue her life long dream of having her own school. Jo established Dance Steps Academy in 2010 and is very proud to be the Principal of what is a rapidly growing school of talent and expertise. Jo specialises in teaching Tap dance, Street Jazz, Musical Theatre and one to one vocal tuition. Jo is currently training towards her I.S.T.D Tap Licentiate and furthering her training as a vocal coach.
Nicole Carman - Tuesday Ballet Teacher & Company Class Choreographer - DDE ISTD
Nicole was awarded a scholarship to attend Arts Educational at 11yrs and went on to complete a 3yr Theatre Dance Foundation Degree at London Studio Centre. Nicole went on to tour with several theatre and dance companies working Internatioanlly, as well as appearing in numerous Bollywood films, Disney's Cheetah girls and produced her own radio show 'The Drama Queens'. Nicole began her teaching career as an assistant at 15 and now teaches an array of dance and theatre genres. Nicole specialises in Imperical Classical Ballet and Modern Theatre Dance and began teaching at Dance Steps Academy in 2011. Nicole is an extremely valued member of the team and we are thrilled to have her on board with us at Dance Steps Academy. Nicole is working towards a Masters Degree in Dance Movement Psychotherapy following being awarded a first class Honours Degree in Dance from Middlesex University and has recently completed a foundation course in Yoga.
Zoe Lane - Saturday & Wednesday Teacher of Modern, Tap, Acro, Tots Classes & Theatre School - DDE ISTD, Acrobatic Arts Certified
Zoë started her training at a young age of 3 at the Tina Phelps Stage School where she took exams in all dance disciplines, competed in competitions, performed in annual shows and local pantomimes and was also selected to dance at the ISTD headquarters. At 16yrs her dream came true when she gained a place at the Tiffany Theatre College to further her training. Zoë graduated from college in 2009 and has been very lucky to have been offered jobs abroad dancing in shows as well as working as a choreographer. Between dance contracts she danced and modelled in the UK for adverts including dancing for Britain’s Got Talent advert alongside Ant and Dec and for a company called DKN RUN as a fitness model and many more. Zoë arrived back from dancing in October 2014 and decided she wanted to stay in the UK and share her knowledge and experience in dance by teaching. Zoë is now teaching in Primary and Secondary schools, as well as teaching adults and children in dancing schools. She still attends classes herself and takes part in shows from time to time. Zoë is extremely thrilled to have been lucky enough to join the Dance Steps Academy Team and looks forward to many years working with everyone here.

Tia Worboys - Saturday Tots Classes teacher - in DDE ISTD training
Tia is a former student of Dance Steps Academy, where she studied ballet, tap, commercial, jazz and musical theatre for numerous years before beginning her professional training at Performers College in September 2017 on the Pre Vocational Course. Since her completion of the course, she has begun training upon the BA (hons) Musical Theatre (Dance) course at Performers. Tia has performed in a variety of productions locally, including Oliver! And The Music Man, as well as many DSA shows. She has also worked as an assistant teacher at DSA since 2015, and is thrilled to begin teaching her own classes at the school.
